Ear Climbers I’m Lusting After

I have been contemplating getting a new ear piercing for a while. I know I’m light years late getting on board with this trend but I’m completely petrified. There are a number of reasons why I am on the fence: One, I remember so vividly the pain of getting my ears pierced when I was 16 years old. I did it with my Mormor (Grandmother in Norwegian) at a local mall and we both cried — geez, I fully bawled my eyes out and Mormor got teary eyed. Plain and simple it was flipping painful! Two, I will avoid all forms of pain if I can (I think this is pretty wise!) and three, I’m worried once I no longer want a second hole in my ear, it won’t grow in and will look like a huge cavernous cavity in my ear lobe. I know I’m being a wee bit dramatic and I’m sure I’m going to bite the bullet eventually, but in the meantime I fully obsessed with ear climbers — also called ear crawlers. These are earrings that look like a series of earrings ‘climbing’ up the ear. My mom bought this delicate pair of silver climbers on holiday in Crete this summer (similar here) and kindly gave them to me as a gift.

Below, I’ve rounded up a few that are just as beautiful.

BOLD / GLAM

TIP: Make sure you buy a pair that can either squeeze tight against your ear lobe or has a top clasp otherwise they can ‘droop’ off your ear, which gives you an entirely different style of earring (they end up looking like wings!).
