Travel Diary: Skincare Retreat to Prince Edward County

On the agenda: Stunning late front views, mindfulness and an anti-aging skincare refresher.

A few weeks ago I headed to Prince Edward County for a three-day skincare retreat with Vichy, and it was nothing short of magical. It was my first time visiting the county after having kids and I have to say, it took my breath away. We stayed at the Drake Motor Inn and floated in between the quaint motel and the impressive Drake Devonshire Inn during the retreat.

We sampled an insane amount of delicious food (rewatching the video now, I still feel full!) and a head-clearing meditation session surrounded by the beauty of lake Ontario. We dove into skincare rituals, practical tips on how to best apply your skincare (some of which I was doing wrong!) — and how not to put on a headband (you’ll see what I mean!). Watch the vlog above to follow along. Below are a few photos I took during my stay.

A denim boiler suit has quickly become a wardrobe staple. The one I’m wearing is from Gap (sold out), here are a few solid alternatives.

The impressive dining room at The Drake Devonshire Inn.

The Drake Motor Inn and neighbouring Devonshire Inn are exceptionally quaint with charming decor touches everywhere. Above, the modern kitchenette in the lobby of the Motor Inn (left) and the lobby of the Devonshire Inn (right).

The two lip colours I mentioned in the video (above, I’m wearing the Estée Lauder Envy Liquid Lipstick in Rebellious Rose). I highly recommend both! I have a chatty GRWM video going up tomorrow using the Dior lip palette.

The views from the outdoor patio at the Drake Devonshire Inn were nothing short of breathtaking. Both nights we were lucky enough to experience PEC’s famous sunsets.

The infamous mini-blueberry scones, above left (I happily ate more than my fair share). The smoothies were tart but delish.

My dreamy pastel coloured room at the Motor Inn.

On the first night I wore a knit dress I found a couple of years ago at Winners (I have a video on how I shop Winners here). A knit dress and plaid scarf are a combo I wear on repeat in the fall and winter months.

Prince Edward County, known as a budding wine country, wasn’t on our original itinerary but we negotiated at pitstop with our driver. We only had time to pop into one, but I will definitely be back to PEC to visit more.

It’s only a 2-hour drive from Toronto so Prince Edward County is an easy weekend journey. I highly recommend a minimum 2-day visit and at the very least stopping in for a meal at The Drake or better yet, using one of the two Inns as your home away from home.

Press trips are a rare treat and I have to say a HUGE thank you to my friends at Vichy for this beautiful 3-day experience.

Video was shot on my Canon G7X and iPhone 10. The photos were shot on my Canon 5D Mark IV + 50mm f/1.2. This post was not sponsored although the trip was gifted by Vichy.
